The wild flowers are mostly at an end now, here on southern coast of Andalucía – but there are still a few of these gorgeous poppies about.
But, they only last for a few precious, fleeting hours until the petals fall to the ground and each individual flower has gone forever.

My poppies didn’t fare well this Spring and won’t be blooming. These that you shared are striking, Marianne. Too bad that their time is so brief.
I love the popies.. Mostly red around here!
Mmmmm same here – mostly red, so I was really pleased to find these little beauties 🙂
I love poppies. These are gorgeous. Wonderful colors. 🙂

I love the way the sun plays on the wild flower on the left. The flowers are fading but the memory stays.
Beautiful …
Hmmm …I like that, too 🙂
Thanks Isadora.
Pretty stuff! It’s a pity they only last for a couple hours.
Yes it is, a great pity.

Hopefully you can try again tomorrow, Gilly. Thanks.
Beautiful flowers, Marianne. I love that color too! 🙂

I’ve never seen a pink poppy before! Here there a fiels full of red poppies at the moment, it makes me want to run through them like Julie Andrews singing ‘The sound of Music” 🙂
The hills are alive ……. LOL
This poppy is such a beautiful dusky pink. It’s gorgeous 🙂

I love seeing the different varieties of poppies from the varied regions of Spain – what a beautiful shade of pink!
Aren’t they just! I never want these poppies to end – but if they are there when I go out in a morning, by the time I come back a few hours later – they are gone!
I’m going to try to get some of the seeds this year 🙂
